For many years, postcards have been an inexpensive and easy way to keep in contact with friends and family. The fact is, most of us look to receive mail that isn’t a bill or junk mail, so getting a postcard from a friend can really brighten our day. With the advanced technology of today’s world, it’s easy to make postcards that are personalized.

The following is a few steps that can help you make your own postcards using photos and your home computer. There are other ways of making them, such as using clipart that can be found on line or in some computer programs.

  1. First of all, find the photo you would like to use for your postcard. Most of us have plenty of photos in our computer, and at least a basic program that allows the manipulation of those photos. Choose the one you would like to use and adjust the size to 4 inches by 6 inches.
  2. This step requires the purchase of postcard paper from your local office supply store and some department stores. There are many choices of paper, some are glossy, some are matte, it’s a matter of choice. Make sure your printer is set up and you have loaded it with the paper.
  3. Print the postcard and fill out the necessary information. You can then write a short message to the person you are mailing the postcard to. Your postcard will brighten someone’s day in a matter of days.

Keeping in touch with loved ones is one of the most important things we do. One of the most simple and easy way to do that is to send them a postcard from time to time. Although postcards can be found in just about any store, you can make postcards from photos and personalize them, making them even more special to the person getting the greeting.
