HazelMail is coming up on its one-year anniversary, and the one word that sums up how I feel about it is grateful.
I am very grateful for the team of very smart and talented people who have worked hard to get HazelMail off the ground. As with any startup, there are some wrinkles–and we work constantly to iron them out. Having said that, I am very proud of where we are and what we have accomplished thus far…and, there’s more to come.
Many thanks to our users for your great input and communication. We are listening, learning, and responding to your suggestions. The more you talk to us, the better we become…please keep the CS emails coming.
And, I am very grateful for this new fun way to communicate. The concept is pretty simple, and the result, a blend of old and new technologies, allows messages and photos to leave the Web and stick to the refrigerator. It’s fun and a little bit magical.
My hope is that we continue to help people communicate and make each other smile. We’ve been working hard in the office for months, so next month, I’m taking a piece of HazelMail on the road. I bought the JetBlue “All You Can Jet” pass, and plan to postcard-blog my way to wherever JetBlue will take me…I am hoping to learn to cook a few things along the way. So, feel free to leave destination suggestions, and you’ll hear from me while on the road.
Thank you all for using HazelMail.
Sincerely,
Michael Lato

Hazel Mail seems longer then the 4-7 days to be mailed.
Why is that?
Happy Anniversary!
Hi Michael – I\’m still loving Hazel mail. Especially love the Hazel bucks. How about establishing a library of pretty or funny pictures. I\’m running out of my own. You can add any of mine that strike your fancy. I’m sure others would provide some of theirs.
Round About 09,
We have seen delays in past weeks, and have learned a few things about better ways for us to work with the USPS. We have a new printing/mailing schedule starting Monday. It should improve our delivery times altogether and stay within the range of 4-7 days for domestic delivery. We’re working on it!
And, thank you!
Maggie,
We hope to have some news on a new image library soon for you to access. Thank you for offering your images…that is very generous. The idea of a user-generated library of images is really very interesting, and we are going to put some thought to that. Thank you again.
Michael,
By all means get to New Orleans, my favorite city. There’s a great New Orleans School of Cooking there where you can learn to whip up some Cajun or Creole classics, and you can’t miss with the great restaurants in town. The French Quarter is an awesome place to take pictures and share them with others through HazelMail. I’ll be looking forward to seeing your pics.
Ron, Am so glad you love New Orleans…me too. I grew up near there and will definitely take your advice and go next month. Get ready for a recipe surprise in the September HazeGram that you especially will enjoy. Also, feel free to post your favorite Louisiana recipe (or any other) in the recipe section of the blog. I’ll go on a photo safari in the Quarter in your honor. Laissez Le Bon Temps Roulet!
